Association of the Hungarian Steel Industry is a co-operative organization voluntarily founded by its member companies; its objective is representing the interests of their member and contributing to their successful operation according to the decisions of the Board of Directors. The activity of the Association can be summarized as follows: analysing the capacity utilisation of the member companies together with the domestic and foreign trade of steel products analysing the changes in the import of steel products representing the interests of the members at international organizations (IISI, EUROFER, OECD, etc.), national institutions (chambers, societies) and at legislative and executive organizations (parliament committees, ministries) maintaining contacts with Hungarian trade organizations in abroad, for the sake of increasing the exportation of steel products organizing meetings and discussions with the federations of domestic users to identify the modifications of their demands analysing the economy of the member companies, compilation of information materials on the changes of the economic environment and on tenders and other possibilities for gaining financial sources. Transferring the economic problems and proposals of the members to the appropriate bodies analysing the technical level of the products of its members by comparing them to the standard international level investigating and analysing the level of technologies and of the quality policy and practice of the member companies continuous investigation and evaluation of the protection of environment in member companies, with special reference to the EU requirements organizing technical meetings, press conferences and exhibitions using the wide range of information available, the Association is ready to elaborate studies, analysing and evaluating materials on the steel industry.
