Special Engineering is an Arc Machines' specialty! Many of our production weld heads started out as specially engineered products. We are proud of the reputation we have gained, providing specialty weld heads and torches for many unusual applications. These heads range from simple fusion tube weld heads to very complex repair heads for tight clearance applications with full vision systems. This type of engineering and first-article manufacturing is difficult to find and even more difficult to have it done right! A quick review of the products in this section will give an idea of the problems that have been solved by Arc Machines' Engineering and Manufacturing Departments. Orbital Tube Welding For fusion-only joining of thin-wall tubing and fittings. Used mostly for small-diameter, high-purity applications. Orbital Pipe Welding For joining thick-wall pipes and fittings using filler wire. Most applications are for "code" welds for power plants, refineries, offshore, boiler construction, ship-building and similar industries. Tube-to-Tubesheet Welding (Either fusion-only or with filler wire): for manufacture of steam generators, shell-and-tube and other heat exchangers.
