Established in 1977 the company has been operating in the fields of export and import of steel products in a total of 14,OOOm2 area of which the 9600m2 is covered. The main activity has become the production of erw (electrically welded) steel tubes and hollow sections (rectangular and square) cut to special lengths since the establishment of two brand new tube producing mills in 1998. With the introduction of the third line in June 2000, the company's yearly production capacity of tubes and hollow sections have reached 50.000mton/year. The factory at the same time operates as a steel service center for decoiling (producing cut to length steel sheets) and for slitting. The production capacity for strips is around 80.000mton/year and for the sheets the capacity is approximately around 50.000mton/year. For the commercial and production activities held in the factory, monthly consumption of steel coils is around 10,000 tons where as the export sales of the products manufactured in the company add up to 5,000 tons/month. The production in the factory is arranged according to various DIN, BS, and ASTM norms with European markets and U.S.A. being the major export destinations. The quality policy of Goktaº has been to combine experience and technology that meet with custamer satisfaction. The Quality Management System established in the company to achieve this goal, was rewarded with ISO 9002 certificate of approval by Bureau Veritas Quality International.
