Voestalpine AG (VOE), Austria’s biggest steelmaker, is in talks to supply Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PETR4) with tube plate for deepwater pipes in the Atlantic basin off Brazil.

“Technically this isn’t possible today,” Voestalpine Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Eder told reporters in Vienna. “One still needs a lot of preparation. We are in negotiations and in two years our development will be advanced enough to go down to 4,000 meters (13,000 feet).” The talks are exclusive, he said, declining to provide further details.

In about five years, Henan-based Golden Dragon Precise Copper Tube Group Inc went from seeking an investment opportunity in the United States to helping a flagging employment rate in Alabama by building a production facility.

The decision to have a site in the US was also spurred by the government's decision to levy anti-dumping tariffs after complaints from US copper tube makers.

A Colorado businessman seeking to build a pipeline to deliver water from  Wyoming to Colorado’s Front Range estimates that whoever designs, builds,  finances and operates the project could see at least a $1.4 billion profit,  according to a document shown to potential contractors.

Aaron Million, of Fort Collins, and his team put out a request for proposals  from contractors to develop the project. Proposals were due Friday.

Russian energy giant Gazprom is interested in constructing $1.5 billion Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project without any international bidding, sources in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources reported.

In this regard a high-level delegation held a meeting with the officials of Gazprom, which started on April 2, 2012 in Moscow for financial and technical assistance for this gas pipeline project.

The spokesman said due to positive negotiations between the two parties, Russian company was ready to facilitate with three services including engineering design, construction and financing for laying 781 kilometres (kms) long IP gas pipeline project.
